EachOneTeachOne

Message from Heather Lund:

Yesterday Jeremy Mansfield pleaded to the public to make toys for the elephants to play with to hopefully get their spirits back and up. I represent Succinct (Pty) Ltd who run a project called ‘Each One Teach One’ where we have set up a group of sewing ladies at the Alexsan Kopano Community Centre in Alexandra. We immediately responded to the plea and offered the services of project ‘Each One Teach One’ but pleaded for material to be donated. Once the plea went out live on 94.7 we were inundated with calls. The response has been phenomenal and we have already and are still receiving bags full of material. Project ‘Each One Teach One’ wants to thank the public for all their donations and if there is any more material to donate, to please call me and we’ll arrange for it to be collected.

About the Project

The sewing group was launched late last year at Alexsan Kopano Centre in Alexandra, under the banner of "Project Each One Teach One".

The project is the brainchild of Gail Hering, a director of Succinct (Pty) Ltd. Gail and Succinct are presently funding the project. The overall objective of the "Each One Teach One" projects is to empower the community with skills to make them self-sufficient and end the cycle of poverty in this country.

This project aims at providing unemployed people from previously disadvantaged backgrounds with the necessary training to become trainers so that they in turn can pass on their skills to other members of the community.

As it is a fledging project we are still reliant on donations of resources and funding. Any offers of help are always appreciated.

We are constantly on the lookout for sewing projects and have already secured a number of income generating sewing assignments. We are happy to take on sewing opportunities and to accept specific orders.

Thank you for your support
