A very sobering and stressful situation we have to keep in mind
Thanks Sherryn Thompson for submitting this:)
What are you going to do if you are told that those elephants have to be culled?
The amount of abuse and trauma experienced by them is irreparable. They will be a danger to themselves, to other elephants and certainly to any humans. Ten months of this kind of treatment will never be forgotten by them. It's a terrible tragedy created by mankind and unfortunately may have to be destroyed by mankind.
I want you to think very carefully about the fact that they (99% chance) will be culled. I don't want the people given the disgusting job of doing this to be harrased.
The harassment must continue against those that created this situation in the first place, and those at the front of the queue must be the Rhino and Elephant Foundation and the justice system. If we do not make things move as fast as we possibly can this situation will still be in existence at Christmas this year.
If they can't control the crime, why the hell should they give a damn about some elephants?
Personal note: Yes, that is a thought that occurred to me too..... I got a small ray of hope when I saw on the ETV news bulletin how readily the elephants were able to be close to "normal" human beings. I just hope with all my power that they have not been damaged beyond repair, and that exposure to and acceptance by adult elephant SOON will be able to fade the memories of their current horrible current experiences.
